Core Processing & Assembly

Core Consolidation:

Cumberland Processing Center woks with Nissan North America to collect auto components for re-manufacturing. Our processing center receives cores at our central warehouse from approximately 1,250 dealerships (Nissan & Infiniti) every day. Where each part received is closely inspected and catalogued with criteria as established by Nissan North America. Each CORE is evaluated and accepted or rejected based on several criteria and is then warehoused. On demand by Nissan North America these parts are shipped to re-manufacturing companies, or scrapped by sending to appropriate recycling facilities. Cumberland Processing Center is a premier and only CORE Consolidator in the Middle Tennessee region.

Shipping & Receiving:

CPC receives hundreds of parts daily from more than 1,250 Nissan and Infinity dealers throughout the USA and Canada. Examples of collected cores include alternators, starters, calipers, throttle bodies, AC compressor, transmissions and engine, etc.

CPC provides rebuilders the processed cores that are needed for re-manufacturing and as approved by Nissan North America.

Cumberland Plastics Corporation also purchases Blemished, Excess and/or Obsolete parts from Nissan for resale; in as is condition without warranty to non-dealer wholesalers

CPC warehouses and keeps an accurate inventory of cores for Nissan’s use.

Inspection:

CPC inspects each part physically and thoroughly based on Nissan’s inspection standard. If the parts are not accepted, they will be marked as rejected. The acceptable parts will be stored in the warehouse by part number and category. These parts will be shipped to the rebuilders based on Nissan’s instruction.

Assembly:

CPC provides contract manufacturing services to Kasai North America, Inc. These services include assembly of Headliners to be used by Nissan. We assembled headliners for Altima, Maxima, Pathfinder, X-Terra, Frontier, Titan and Leaf models. In addition to headliners, we assemble miscellaneous parts for the Nissan Pathfinder and Infinity. The contract assembly service evolved from subcontracting with M-TEK, Inc. (KASAI) in Manchester, TN in 2003.

Inventory Management:

CPC currently warehouses approximately 200,000 processed cores and 95,000 new, blemished and excess components purchased from Nissan distribution centers and manufacturing facilities. To facilitate accurate inventory of parts Cumberland Plastics Corporation developed “Insight”- a proprietary inventory management systems /software.

Insight software systems helps to provides accurate inventory dynamically and also helps in preparation of processing reports daily, weekly and Monthly for management use and sharing with Nissan North America. Cumberland Plastics Corporation also developed and uses a proprietary software system “Mosaic” to facilitate receiving, sales and inventory of purchased parts from Nissan.

Workforce:

Our workforce is well trained, experienced with required skill set to efficiently process hundreds of parts daily and assist in receiving / Sale of Nissan parts.


Storage:

CPC has 5 warehouses, with each warehouse equipped with storage racks, inventory management systems and equipment required to store receive and ship parts. CPC has 3 company trucks. and several Fork Lifts to assist warehousing operations.

All CPC warehouses are located within 50-mile radius from Nissan facilities.
